The Fitness Assessment requires two appointments: |

Appointment #1:
With a certified staff member, you will discuss your exercise and health history as well as individual goals. Next you will complete
a Fitness Assessment including the following areas:
• Aerobic capacity
• Flexibility
• Body Composition
• Muscular Strength and endurance |

Appointment #2:
You will review your results along with a full explanation of your personal exercise program. Certified staff will guide you through your workout with full instruction for each exercise.

| Penny has been working in the health and fitness industry for over 13 years now, having taught several types of classes including seniors fitness, kick boxing, step aerobics to yoga and meditation. Penny has continually developed and added to her knowledge and experience by seeing something her clientele needs to better their life, then going out and seeking that knowledge so she can then pass it on to them. Penny has worked one on one with many clients, specializing in women's health and has also worked long term with people suffering from MS, Fibromyialgia, arthritis and chronic pain. She loves feeling good and is eager to help anyone else who wants to feel their best! |

Doug has a passion for people and fitness.
Along with his accreditations Doug brings a wealth of skills and experience to his clients from teaching Aerobics to competing in many triathlons and marathons. He is a founding member of the Orca running group, a committee member of the Qualicum Beach Triathlon and has facilitated many successful running clinics. |

Having spent 10 years in the retail industry, Doug is also capable of providing direction with the purchase of athletic footwear and clothing. His philosophy is that everyone at any age or level of conditioning can benefit from fitness. Doug has worked with many athletes and welcomes the opportunity to work with new clients. Activities must be fun and functional to one's lifestyle.

We take several measurements from your body. All measurements are taken above your clothing and the test is performed in our assessment room to ensure total privacy. Power Yoga develops strength, flexibility, balance, focus, concentration and a sense of peace and contentment within oneself. It is an active form of Yoga with each class beginning with seated breathing and meditation and finishing with a 10 minute guided deep relaxation. It is for people of all ages and fitness levels. In every class there are beginners to more advanced as Penny show's modifications to make it fun for everyone. It is great cross training for any sport/activity or simply to bring more balance into your body and mind.

| Tae Kwon Do with Shinichi Matsumoto |

Shinichi Matsumoto began his martial arts training at the age of 10 in Japan. He trained in old traditional style Tae kwon do for more than 18 years. He perused Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido, becoming an instructor. His mission is to share self-defense techniques that are practical while enjoying the healthy, physical benefits of martial arts. Through our lessons, we hope you will master traditional Tae Kwon Do, which is practical yet combines its art form with a rich history and tradition in order to strengthen your body and mind.
Master Matsumoto holds Dan Certification from the the Chang Han Taekwondo Association, and the WIF. He is an affiliate member of the International Tae Kwon Do Federation. He also holds 5th Dan ranks in Hapkido and weapons registered with Grandmaster Pan Gong, Song in Shihung City, Kyung Gi Do Province South Korea.
He is the Head Instructor at Fitness Connection's Taekwondo program in Parksville and has a branch school in Osaka City, Japan and another affiliate school in B.C .
Qualifications:
International Master instructor license holder USA/JAPAN
Dan rank registered in Japan/South Korea/USA
JOC Certified Instructor of San Shou.
